Casa Allegra
SPECIAL BREAKSOpera BreaksCasa Allegra is located only 35 minutes away from the beautiful university town of Macerata, the capital of the province. Macerata is famed for its magnificent Sferisterio (open-air opera house), second only to Verona in the whole of Italy. During the months of July and August performances of the highest calibre take place during the annual summer festival. For opera lovers, this is an opportunity not to be missed.
Why not book a week
(or two) at Casa Allegra, chill by the pool during the day, do a spot of
sightseeing at the many places of cultural interest and take in the opera of an
evening.
Tell us you’re interested in the opera when you make your booking, and we’ll give you the latest news of next season’s productions, and book tickets for you ready for your arrival.
Ski/Winter Breaks![]()
Fancy a long weekend on the slopes? Casa Allegra is located near the ski resort in the heart of the Sibillini Mountains. Nowhere near as crowded as similar places in northern Italy, the pistes above the well preserved medieval town of Sarnano offer skiing and snowboarding facilities for young and old alike. Perfect for taking those first faltering steps, brushing up on your skills or gaining confidence before maybe going onto greater things! Lessons can be booked and equipment hired in town or at the ski centre. Non skiers can instead enjoy the stunningly beautiful winter landscapes by going on long walks through the countryside, or following one of the many trails through the Sibillini National Park.
Shopping and Spa BreaksOur nearest town of Sarnano (10 minutes away) is famous for its spring water and thermal spa. Set in lovely grounds, the beauty farm and health farm offer wonderfully therapeutic or relaxing treatments under the watchful eye of trained staff. The Italians (lucky things) often get prescribed courses of treatment on the National Health, but for the rest of us appointments can be made for the treatments of your choice or a consultation. Another great advantages of this area is the fact that so many factory outlets sell direct to the public. Huge savings on clothes, and especially shoes and leatherware for which Le Marche is renowned, can be made in this way. In fact, the factory making famous Tod’s shoes is easy to get to from here, where prices are remarkable considering the quality of the shoes and the prices you would normally pay retail. Gorgeous accessories and men’s shoes are also on sale. Not far from here, there is also an outlet selling Prada shoes and clothes. Good quality clothes can also be found at the Saks, Tombolini and Malagrida outlets. Even the “normal” shops at Macerata and Tolentino have good prices for designer stuff compared to the UK. This is Italy after all- the fashionista’s paradise!! So if you usually spend a fortune on shoes, book a break with us and combine shopping with a few beauty treatments at the Spa, a spot of culture and come back to a comfortable room and a relaxing meal.
